PEACE, LOVE and GYMNIKS - we got best float!
Gymniks team members and their coaches and parents participated in the Parkersburg Homecoming Parade on August 22, 2009. We handed out beads with an invitation for a free class. Many thanks to Edgell-Jackson Trucking for our wonderful semi! Thanks also to all parents that volunteered to decorate the float and supervise this fun event. All of our work paid off! We got first place for the best commercial float. Awesome!
A group of Gymniks team members and parents took a bus trip to Kings Island on July 30th. Although it rained in the early afternoon and then at the end of the day, everyone had a great time!
Some Gymniks team members attended Camp Woodward in PA along with Coach Chris. This group went during week 2. (Other team members attended other weeks - hopefully, we can get some pictures of them too.) The girls had a great time, especially hangin' in the cabin.
The Gymniks team had a great time at the cookout on June 5 in Williamstown park. The food was delicious! When is the next one!?!
Congrats to our gymnasts! Level 6, Level 7 and Level 10 took first place at the State Meet. Great job! Gymniks was also named the Optional Gym Club of the Year - so congrats also to our coaches! Stay tuned - more photos coming soon!
The 2nd annual Gymniks Olympics was held on Saturday, August 9 at Parkersburg Catholic Elementary. Along with class kids, the Gymniks competitive gymnasts kicked off their new routines with a BANG! Along with the athlete's performances, there was a "Toughest Girl" competition. Each session of athletes competed for the title of "Toughest Girl". There were dozens of chin-ups, sit-ups and other challenging tests of strength for the athletes. It was a great day for our community to see what wonderful benefits Gymniks has for our youth. Gymniks was also featured as the "Top Story" on WTAP news on 8-9-2008. It was a great way to kick off the Olympics...GO TEAM USA!
Chris and Nikki took their gymnasts to Flip Fest in Crossville, TN for a week of gymnastics camp full of workouts and fun activities. Check out the photos to catch a glimpse of all the fun.
